Spanning the quarter is a feature in iBudget that allows flexibility to the individual and to the provider. It can be used for manual service rates to allow for funds to be used at any point during a quarter instead of on a set day or within a set month. To do this, you would enter 1 unit in the beginning month of the quarter, enter 1 unit in the ending month of the quarter, then divide the allocated amount between the two.
